The Global CSO Summit

 The aim of the summit is to foster an inclusive and interactive dialogue among civil society organizations (CSOs) from all Small Island Developing States (SIDS) regions. The Summit will be held at the Tradewinds Hotel Conference Room on Monday, May 27th, 2024 from 12:00 pm (midday) and is open to virtual par all CSOs.

Interactive Dialogs

CSO Summit

Following the engagement activities held from May 1st - 26th, this summit will serve as a culmination platform allowing CSOs to collectively address pressing issues facing their communities.

Empowering Change

It will emphasize the importance of promoting climate mitigation and adaptation through the intersection of gender equality, social justice and the empowerment of vulnerable groups within the context of sustainable development in SIDS.

Elevating Voices

The Summit will seek to amplify the voices of CSOs and marginalized communities, ensuring their perspectives are central to discussions surrounding policy formulation, resource allocation, and implementation strategies.

Fostering Resilience

By providing a space for knowledge-sharing, networking, and capacity-building, the Summit empowers CSOs to advocate for inclusive and equitable solutions tailored to the unique challenges faced by SIDS regions.

Unity in Action

CSOs will be able to leverage collective action and partnerships, facilitating the exchange of best practices and innovative approaches to address shared concerns such as climate change adaptation, sustainable livelihoods, and building resilience to external shocks. 

SIDS4 Roadmap and Action Plan

Discussion on the pathway for CSOs over the next 10 years.

Structure Of The CSO Global Summit

The Global CSO Summit is divided into two segments. 


Segment 1:

  •  Plenary sessions to discuss the SIDS4 CSO Roadmap and Action Plan, and future of the SIDS4 CSO Coalition. The intention is to establish a continuous mechanism for SIDS CSOs to communicate and connect across the decade of actions.  

Segment 2:

  •   A networking opportunity for CSOs to connect with each other after the Global CSO Summit plenary sessions and post-conference Day 1.

Session 1: Actions and Commitments by Civil Society Towards an Inclusive Implementation of the Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for SIDS (ABAS)
