With the support of the Caribbean Biodiversity Fund (CBF), IHO is partnering with several organisations, including the UN Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre (WCMC), to increase the resilience of coastal communities in the Dominican Republic, Antigua and Barbuda, and Jamaica, to storm surges, and coastal erosion.
The project is also working to strengthen the resilience of tourism and fisheries livelihoods to the adverse impacts of climate change and biodiversity degradation.
How are we achieving these goals?
- Through restoring and rehabilitating interconnected marine and coastal ecosystems.
- Through increasing community adaptive capacity through diversified, sustainable livelihoods and involvement in ecosystem management and decision making.
