A movement for change

The Gender-Based Violence Walk

Through raising awareness and mobilizing residents each year, our goal is to broaden the coalition of partners in civil society, the private sector and in government, willing to work together to end gender-based violence. We leverage this movement to support tangible actions. The GBV Walk 2026 happens on March 7th.

Donate to the Shelter

The momentum created by this movement enabled IHO and the Directorate of Gender Affairs, to successfully lobby the government for approval for a 5-acre lease of public land for our project to establish a women's shelter. We've made a start, but we still need your support.

This is Your Movement

Thank you for your support

On behalf of IHO, I say thank you to everyone who supports this important movement each year. You make it possible. Our volunteers are the backbone of our work. Without you, we would never have gained the momentum we now have. Our sponsors give generously, allowing us to manage a walk of this scale.

The Directorate of Gender Affairs works alongside us every step of the way, moving mountains whenever needed. Equality Fund supports our vision and has empowered us from the beginning. And to everyone who takes part—families, churches, youth groups, service clubs, women's organisations, schools—this is your movement. Thank you for leading the way.

A. Brenda Thomas-Odlum | IHO President
