What is the purpose of the CSO Expo?

  • To give the local community in Antigua and Barbuda the opportunity to connect with participating local and international CSOs on issues relevant to the sustainable development agenda of SIDS.

  • To create a space where CSOs from the SIDS regions can network with each other and build lasting connections based on similar realities, common challenges, and shared goals.

  • To give CSOs the chance to showcase their organisations and their work to the many SIDS4 conference attendees who will be in Antigua representing governments, the United Nations (UN) system, international agencies, and the private sector, and to foster a space for connections.

Why Should My Civil Society Organisation Participate?

Raise Public Awareness

Raise Public Awareness

Your organisation will contribute to raising public awareness in Antigua and Barbuda about the unique  development challenges faced in your country, and how CSOs like yours have strived to bring about change in the face of these challenges, be they social, economic, environmental or otherwise.

Gain Connections

Raise Public Awareness

You will gain from forming connections with other CSOs from SIDS regions and learning from other CSOs about successful strategies for advocacy, activism, fund raising, awareness raising, public education, etc.

Networking

Networking

Your CSO stands to benefit from the chance to network with SIDS4 Conference attendees from various backgrounds who may be in Antigua and Barbuda ahead of the conference, and whose connections may prove invaluable to you in the future.

Our Journey

The SIDS4 CSO Coalition held a series of public consultations on civil society participation in the upcoming SIDS4 Conference and on the role of civil society in helping SIDS achieve resilient prosperity through the work it does.

The Coalition has also contributed to the planning discussions surrounding the SIDS Civil Society Forum, which is a event happening in conjunction with the Conference. Similarly, the Coalition has gathered inputs from civil society for the SIDS Roadmap and Action Plan which will be launched at the Forum.
